Police killed nearly three people a day last year

Police in the United States killed nearly three people every day last year, on an average, according to data gathered by the Washington Post. Cops in the country shot dead 980 people in 2015, averaging 2.6 shootings a day.

There were only 26 days in the year on which police officer did not kill a citizen. July was the most violent month, with 103 shootings - more than three a day.
